Thrifting: A Mission To Find The Wacky and Tacky

February 11th, 2017

A lot of people may not understand this, but I could spend hours thrifting.

Fun fact: Nate and I have spent most of our relationship at thrift stores (or working for one). He’s always great at finding things that are really unique and most of the items in our place are things he’s found thrifting. I guess he’s lucky like that.

It had been a while since we last ventured out into the world of wacky and tacky, so a few Saturdays ago we decided to make a day of it.

We went to a few thrifting spots in St. Charles:

  1. Value Village
  2. Salvation Army
  3. St. Vincent de Paul

Found some pretty cool stuff and even came across a JJ’s Diner!

I HAD to include this picture. Priscilla was throwing me some major sass before we headed out for the day.

This past year, Alive Magazine came over to take some photos of our apartment and I was thinking about where we got all the items in our place. Most of the items are from thrift stores, with very little being bought new or recently, even. It depends on what you’re into, but you can find some pretty cool things at thrift stores and for very little money, which is always nice.
